Recipe 6: Pekin Duck

So yeah, lets take off today's post by posting up a recipe of the Pekin Duck, a very famous & widely known Chinese dish... from Pekin...

1. Get a duck, cleanse it thoroughly with water, & get out the entrails too from its insides... so yeah....

2. Bake it in an oven big enough, preheated to 350 degrees' celsius, & get it out when its ready for ya guests...

3. Cut it in pieces or just leave it in whole like this & get it on a plate of some sort...

4. & To eat it how to? Roll them in some flour crepes of some sort... or just leave it like this, to savor or fancy whole with chopsticks...

5. Get in the crepe some cucumbers, & some shallots, some cut onions & some Pekin Ducks' sauce  , expressedly for this dish too, red & luscious....

6. Add or adorn or embellish it on its sides some fruits like oranges & citrus fruits..

Some additional tips for ya: The pic's shown to be eaten with a fork, but I like to enjoy it with my fingertips or a pair of chopsticks & I like it rolled in a crepe or either way, in some sort of roll made of flour...... I love from my own or personal perspective, but to each their own & if not ya cuppa tea nor ya style of meat, thats okay too... XDD To be eaten fresh outta the oven... XDDD So yeah, tasted? How ya liked it? Whats you ratin or impressions or views on it? Next up would be about some Chinese fruits & what recipes can be brought bout forth or made from them or so on so yeah.... How did ya eat it?

I've never had duck, is it juicy meat?

Kaynil said...

It is not very juicy from what I recall, I remember it drier than other meats.

I didn't you could get Pekin duck sauce. I thought it'd had a different name or something. It'll make things easier.

Well Kaynik, its not supposed to me like this or this way anyways, its supposed to be a wee bit or lil bit dry for teh mouth... XDD

Never really tried it really. I bet it tastes like chicken? :p or rather, never ate a duck before

@Naiwen: yeah, I believe you. I was simply trying to answer the post above me. Still good you cleared it up. It would suck if I hadn't had a proper one, being such a fancy looking restaurant, that one.

@Ikram45: Not from my experience. XD
IT has a peculiar taste and feel, but it is nice.

Peking duck! I'll be honest, it's not my favorite dish, but it's alright.

Not a fan of duck, even though I've never had it before... XD
But I think this name is very pun worthy... something like "I hope that duck isn't pekin at you" or something like that maybe..
Or maybe "I see a pekin duck, it's just pekin at me..."
XD
